sportpesa-jackpot-winner-week, Alfred Madanji apportions part of Kes 81 million he won

Gambling record in the country was on Sunday rewritten after, sportpesa-jackpot-winner-week 54 year old Alfred Madanji won Sh81.2 million cash prize in the SportPesa mid-week jackpot.
The real estate agent and a former banker now goes down the book of records as the third biggest winner in the country.
Madanji could not hide his joy during the awarding ceremony citing it as answered prayers.
“I don’t have words to describe how I am feeling. I have been very patient with Sportpesa and finally it has paid off,” Madanji said.
Madanji who started betting in 2008 recalls that the biggest amount he had ever scooped in the gambling industry was 10000.
The father of three daughters says he is planning to buy his family a home and end a church project her late mother began in his home village.
“My mother was a dedicated Catholic faithful and before she died she had built a church at home but the roof is rusty and I am going to finish what she started,” he said.
Still coming to terms with the fact that he is a millionaire becomes evident when he says he dismissed a call to inform him that he was the winner of Sh81.2 million.
“I thought the call was a scam and dismissed it at first. I even tried to withdraw the money so that I could confirm if it was true I had won,” Madanji said.
Madanji’s win comes at a critical time when the government announced its plan to impose 50 per cent tax on betting during the budget reading for the financial year 2017/2018. The law has, however, not been enacted as it awaits gazettement.
